he Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Barr. Uju Kennedy Ohanenye today paid an impromptu visit to one of the Women Affinity Groups (WAG) of the Nigeria for Women Project in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger state. On arrival the entourage met with members of ABADOSUN WAG in Abuchi Koro village.
The minister who was accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Niger State, His Excellency Comrade Yakubu Garba and the National Project Coordinator Mrs. Ruth Peter Mshelia used the occasion to get acquainted with project beneficiaries and also appraise the state of NFWP implementation so as to determine the direction of her policies concerning the livelihoods of women in the country.
In his reaction, the Deputy Governor of Niger state, Comrade Yakubu Garba told the women that he was happy as they were considering that the NFWP provides them with necessary skills and training to manage their money and grow their business, noting that in business management skills are more important than the money.
Meanwhile the members of the ABADOSUN WAG Abuchi Koro village were very happy to see the minister in their midst being the first WAG to host the minister immediately after her appointment and inauguration.
In the same vain, the Minister visited a Collective in Izom. This particular collective is into Rice processing and marketing. Sanasi Izom Women Rice Processing/marketing collective of the NFWP illustrated to the Hon. Minister some the processes and innovations they apply in their business.
