For NFWP, Champions are those identified within the communities who stand out in breaking barriers that hinder Women from fulfilling their dreams and being empowered. There are those who have allowed their spouses do things their norms would not allow and those who have reached out to other men to understand the gains of letting women play their part to building their families and communities.120 personalities from Onna, Oruk Anam, Ibesikpo Asutan, Abak, Esit Eket and Nsit Ubium of Akwa Ibom State have accepted to be enlisted as project champions.
Identified across the six implementing LGAs, twenty each, they indicated their willingness to assist the project in propagating the gains of the WAG model.
