The first Implementation Support Mission for the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up Project was held from July 21 to August 8, 2025. Its objective was clear: assess progress, align stakeholders, and build momentum for successful implementation.
The mission included opening remarks from the National Project Coordinator, Dr. Hadiza Maina, and the Task Team Lead, Michael Ilesanmi. It also featured a general assembly with Commissioners of Women Affairs, deep-dive sessions on livelihood collectives, and progress presentations from Federal and State Project Coordinating Units.
Specialists from the World Bank anchored sessions on communication, procurement, financial management, PMIS, gender innovation, social norms, environmental and social safeguards, and disability inclusion.
This productive start has strengthened collaboration and set the foundation for empowering women through the NFWP-SU.
