IT TAKES PATIENCE & DOGGEDNESS TO BRING CHANGE

The ease at which some NFWP Ward Facilitators got women in their communities to join the Women Affinity Group (WAG) varies due to previous experiences, misunderstanding, fear and skepticism. Eventually this 25 years old Jamila Muhammed who is a Ward Facilitator in Fellande Ward of Argungu Local Government in Kebbi State, despite the community entry and mobilization by the State Project team to her ward in Fellande, acceptability and formation of WAG was a challenge.

Jamila’s doggedness, confidence, patience and persistence to convince the women in Fellande paid off after so many trial. Jamila narrates that … ‘‘Every day a woman comes to me wanting to join WAG, I now have to start explaining to them that I have Maxed out on the approved number of WAGS for each Ward Facilitator. I am so proud to be a part of this very impactful project, you will never know the joy that comes with it until you are a part of it and you see how women who could barely sustain their businesses and livelihood now lead better lives with improved businesses even before grants are disbursed”.
