KATSINA LAUNCHES COMMUNITY INVESTMENT FUND TO EMPOWER OVER 40,000 WOMEN

Today, under the able leadership of Honorable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim fsi, Katsina State Government launched its Community Investment Fund (CIF) on the Nigeria For Women Program Scale Up.

The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, flagged off the disbursement of the CIF with over 40,000 women set to benefit from business capital to expand their business enterprises, improve household incomes and strengthen their economic resilience.

Today’s milestone is far more than handing over money. It is a celebration of unity, hard work, and what happens when we trust women with resources. Under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Federal Government is fully committed to helping women grow businesses, beat poverty, and lead resilient lives.

Currently in Katsina state, Katsina, Funtua and Daura Local Government Areas, have built over 3,418 Women Affinity Groups with 83,738 members, who have saved ₦524,211,700 together. These are not just figures on a page. They represent 83,738 determined women who chose to unite, learn, save and support one another, and who have turned trust into real financial power.

The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development remains committed to working with Katsina State and our partners to sustain this momentum and ensure that more women, particularly those in rural and economically vulnerable communities, have access to economic opportunities.
