OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF HIGH LEVEL ADVISORY COUNCIL (HLAC) TO SUPPORT WOMEN AND GIRLS, NATIONAL WOMEN’S ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT (WEE) POLICY DIALOGUE, ADOLECENT GIRLS INITIATIVE FOR LEARNING AND EMPOWERMENT (AGILE), AND NIGERIA FOR WOMEN PROJECT SCALE-UP

His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari has officially Launched the High Level Advisory Council (HLAC) to support women and girls in Nigeria, National WEE Policy Dialogue, AGILE and NFWP Scale-up.

The event which took place at the Presidential Banquet Hall was attended by dignitaries in the public and private sectors. In attendance also are various partners and other well meaning organisations and individuals.

President Miuhammadu Buhari expressed delight over the launching of the HLAC noting that women and girls are very integral to the overall development of Nigeria. He then called on all and sundry to support the agenda and activities that seeks to promote gender equality.

In a very robust speech made by the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Her Excellency Dame Pauline K. Tallen said the successes and impact recorded in the pilot of the NFWP across the implementing states is what prompted the need for the scale-up of the NFWP. The Minister extolled many more beautiful reasons that led to formation of HLAC to support women and girls in Nigeria.

The World Bank Country Director in Nigeria Shubham Chaudhuri while delivering his goodwill message thanked the President for his numerous policies aimed at bettering the lots of women and girls in Nigeria. Shubham says one of the World bank’s key interest in Nigeria is to bridge the gap of women and men. He added that there is no meaningful and genuine progress/development if women do not take their rightful place in the society. #HLAC#NFWPSCALE-UP #WEE#AGILE#WORLDBANK
